MRS. A EATS | KOKORO FOOD HAUS

By Athina Angliongto - 2:10:00 PM

I work in one of the busiest streets in Davao City - Claveria Street - this street is filled with so many establishments ranging from financial institutions, small buy and sell stores, spas and restaurants. This humble small Japanese restaurant is one of those restaurants in Claveria and I pass by it every single working day when I go home from work but I never had the time to try it. Up until one very hot afternoon when Mark and I decided to eat there for lunch.

It was literally like a one or two minute walk away from my office so we still had plenty of time to eat before I consume my one hour lunch break.

Inside details of Kokoro Food Haus

A huge kimono is hung on the back wall of the restaurant

Kokoro Food Haus has only three tables so you're lucky if you get a seat during peak hours like us.

free soup for the customers - yummy!
I was also impressed with the service because ten minutes after we ordered, the food was already served to us. Yas! More time to eat without beating the one hour lunch break haha!

What I ordered: Chicken Katsu - breaded deep fried chicken cutlet - Php 99

What Mr. A ordered: Tonkatsu - breaded deep fried pork cutlet - Php 109
Okay so it looks like we had the same orders but that's not the case. I ordered chicken and Mark ordered pork. They just sort of look alike.

Matcha Soft Cream for dessert - Php 30
We didn't order that many food since, again, I only had an hour for my lunch break. But from the looks of their menu, their prices are very reasonable. And basing on what we both ate - the chicken katsu and tonkatsu - we were actually impressed. They were both delicious. Thumbs up from us!

Plus, their Matcha Soft Cream is very delicious that I still wanted to eat more! And for only 30 pesos? what a good deal!

I'm glad I finally got to try Kokoro Food Haus. That is definitely another choice of place for us to eat at during my lunch break, especially when our helper doesn't feel like cooking lunch for my baon. Ha ha!

Kokoro Food Haus is located at C.M Recto Avenue (Claveria Street), just beside Palawan Pawnshop. They are open from Mondays to Saturdays at 11 am to 3pm; 5 pm to 10 pm.

You can contact them at (082) 300 1577 or check their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/KokoroFoodHaus

P.S. Their Katsu Sauce is so yummy!
