MY HONEST REVIEW | MITSUBISHI TRITON 2024

Fun Fact: I have always been a fan of Mitsubishi cars. Our first family car was a Mitsubishi Lancer Box Type. Though considered “vintage” when we first got it, it was powerful and has served our family for more than a decade – dropping and fetching us to and from school, my dad’s office, weekend grocery runs, etc! Not only did my parents get one Mitsubishi car, but we had three! My late dad was very impressed with Mitsubishi cars that’s why we grew up with the brand. And at a young age, I already know that Mitsubishi was indeed a trusted car brand.

I personally came to start appreciating pick-up cars during my late 20’s. My in-laws owned a farm and it was so hard to navigate the area riding a sedan. But with a pick-up, it was elevated and the shocks that come with it were just perfect in dealing with all those irregular roads going to the farm area. Pick-ups are really made for travelling in those types of areas and getting stuck in muds was not a problem, but a piece of cake!

And when I found out that Mitsubishi redesigned TRITON and is now ready to conquer the roads with its new owners, I signed up for a test drive just to check out its features and what the series has to offer. As a Mitsubishi fan (thanks to my late dad), I was very on board in checking out its features.

From the outside, it looks really HUGE! From bumper to rear, I could say it’s HUMONGOUS in all aspects. Now if you’re somebody who is into big cars when this one should be on your list. I also learned that it has a payload capacity of more than 600kg – which is quite impressive considering that other pick-up vehicles couldn’t reach this one. So from that aspect, the Mitsubishi Triton is a great option for those who carry heavy things – may it be for business or personal use.

The interior was pretty much impressive as well – nothing really fancy in my honest opinion but everything one would like inside a car is there – comfy seats, steering wheel with buttons for music and other commands and also has an infotainment system. Now as somebody who uses maps and loves to listen to music, infotainment is a plus and size-wise, the Mitsubishi Triton’s infotainment is big enough to fit my visual needs. It is also big enough to play a movie to entertain the passengers (not the driver, of course!).

I got the chance to try out the Mitsubishi Triton Athlete 4WD AT. I wanted to drive it myself but since I wanted to test it on the obstacle course located at SM Lanang Premier’s Parking Lot, I opted to be on the passenger seat instead. Out of all the obstacles we tried, what impressed me the most it the “SAND MODE” – riding on difficult terrains and the possibility of getting stuck on mud and sand is inevitable but with the Mitsubishi Triton, overcoming that challenge was easy!

Registration for the test drive was pretty easy. It was done online. After completing the necessary details, the point person gave me a queue card number to be surrendered before the test drive proper.

Passenger Princess but yet, a very observant one!

Seconds before we drove up this part of the obstacle course. I was so impressed with the shocks of the Mitsubishi Triton that passing through this one was so smooth.

Dual camera views which made me say WOW.
Is the Mitsubishi Triton worth purchasing?

If you are the type of person who travels on difficult terrains such as on farms, undeveloped roads outside of cities and the like, then it’s a BIG YES! The Mitsubishi Triton is a good option in dealing with such situations. And it is also capable of being a so-called “business vehicle” when you are in the business that need to carry heavy items.

After my successful test drive, I got a voucher and got myself free coffee from their Mitsubishi Café. By the way, these guys came all the way from Tagaytay and their coffee was so good! – I got myself the Hazelnut Macchiato.

The Mitsubishi Triton 2.4 GLS 2WD AT (the one that I was able to try) has an SRP of P1.652Mn. Other payment options such as bank financing is also offered by different dealerships – Gateway and KarAsia.

If you’re thinking of getting one, it is really advisable to test drive it first to know its full capabilities. Get the chance to test drive it from March 08 to March 10, 2024 at SM Lanang Premier from 10 am to 5 pm. The Go Beyond Limits Tour is a 3-day test drive event that aims to showcase the amazing capabilities of the all new Mitsubishi Triton. Alongside this is Taralets Pinas! campaign. This partnership came together in Davao City to celebrate exploration and discovery. Freebies await those who will pay a reservation fee during those days.
